White silence, crisp air, and the panoramic views of the Dachstein – in Ramsau, winter becomes a retreat for the soul. At over 1,000 meters, you experience nature in its purest form: cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, winter hiking, or simply enjoying regional delicacies in a rustic mountain hut. Up here, winter is authentic. And simply beautiful.
Tip for your winter holiday: You will receive the Schladming-Dachstein Wintercard free of charge if you stay at the Rösslhof for one night or more.

Your winter holiday at the 4-star Hotel Rösslhof in Ramsau am Dachstein

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING
Almost directly in front of the Hotel Rösslhof you can access the perfectly groomed, 220-kilometer-long network of cross-country ski trails in Ramsau at the foot of the Dachstein mountain.
A special service is the illuminated night cross-country ski trail, which is open every evening until 9 pm in Ramsau village. There is also a separate children's trail where the youngest cross-country skiers can make their first attempts on skis...
And this is in the very region where, in 1999, Alois Stadlober, Christian Hoffmann, Markus Gandler, and Mikhail Botwinov won the gold medal for the Austrian relay team at the Nordic World Ski Championships. Nordic events are also regularly held in Ramsau, which the locals support with great enthusiasm.
You can find more tips and information about our cross-country skiing offer here.

The "local mountain" directly in Ramsau is the Rittisberg with wonderfully prepared slopes of all difficulty levels.
The Royer family also owns a ski school with a practice slope very close to the hotel.
The Dachstein Glacier is one of the most popular and, above all, snow-sure ski resorts for all skiers throughout the year.

EXPERIENCE TOURING
Touring enthusiasts will also find plenty of routes in Ramsau with varying levels of difficulty - from easy beginner tours to challenging routes for experienced alpinists.
A moonlight tour to the alpine pastures is a special experience (and those who have a sled with them can get back down to the valley comfortably and quickly afterwards...)..

You'll learn about essential equipment, how to use it when skiing off-piste, and the most important safety rules. Topics covered include: What do I need? How do I use it? Assessing avalanche danger, and much more.

SPECIAL WINTER FUN
Do you prefer to travel down the mountain or along the trails while seated? Then the toboggan runs on the Rittisberg or Hochwurzen, as well as romantic horse-drawn carriage rides, are probably just the thing for you! Even unforgettable carriage rides under the stars are possible...
